Larry David, the co-creator of Seinfeld and star/creator of Curb Your Enthusiasm used to write for Saturday Night Live- in the 80’s, before he was anything special. One day, during a heated meeting (SNL is a historically stressful place to work) he quit. He got all pissed off and walked out and quit. Then he walked down the street and thought about all the money he’d be losing. He figured out the exact amount- He was like “This much for the remaining shows pluuuuus this much for the remaining re-runs…”
When Larry quietly walked into a meeting the next day, Lorne Michaels, boss of SNL was in the middle of talking and he noticed Larry near the door. He just kinda looked at him and said, with a smirk- “Larry, is that you?” And then he carried on.
